My Angel with Paws: non-profit organization
I worked with the non-profit organization called My Angel with Paws to create a series of 10 posters to bring awareness. They are an 100% volunteer based organization located in Deland, FL who are committed to expanding public understanding and knowledge of the needs of children and adults with disabilities through the rescuing, breeding, training, placement and continuing education of service dogs in the state of Florida. One of their main goals while training these dogs is to help people with disabilities live fuller, more independent lives.
I knew that I wanted to work with an organization that either dealt with dogs or people with disabilities and this was the perfect blend of both. I myself have three dogs and they bring an incredible amount of joy to my life, so I can imagine what an impact they have on someone with a disability.
The concept I went with of these really large dogs is to emphasize the importance that the dogs have on children and adults with disabilities. I wanted them to be bright and positive and for there to be something that stands out to catch someone’s attention and encourage them to come closer and read the text that provides some educational feedback on the type of service these dogs provide.

Article 26: Right to Education
(1) Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit.
(2) Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace.
(3) Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.
Poster Concept: When you learn something, your brain physically changes and grasps that knowledge. Connections are made and strengthened. I chose to illustrate this human right with a pump “pumping up your brain” with your education. I worked with the primary colors (red, blue, and yellow) since they are the most basic and first colors children learn in school. I used the objects like the pump and the arrow(up) to play along with the text.
